900 years of history
This castle in a small town in Northern France has its roots in the 12th century but up until the 19th century parts and floors have been added.
Of all its owners, the last one may very well have been the most exciting character judging by the size of the artillery piece in the salon. “He clearly lived before the wireless security camera era….“
Staircases and tricycles
The building has several interesting architectual components as well as nice artifacts. The stairwells and staircases in particular I found very striking.
The tricycle in the hallway is undoubtingly the piece the resistance. You can almost hear the giggling of the young girl while she races through the hallway.
The painted figures on the wall have survived her and countless other residents.
