A short history lesson
I like quessing what used to go on in the places I visit even more than I like actually knowing it. In this case the historic facts are very clear. This place was buil a monestary in the early 1900’s and used to house handicapt children at first. It remained a sanctuary for handicapt children even after the monks left in the years leading up to WW II. During WW II quite a few people unfortunately lost their life here under the Nazi regime.
When the St Francis monks returned in the 1950’s the place was transformed into a school.
Some of my faforite images are taken in the old class rooms with standing water and gorgeous windows. Some of them with the solitairy chair or table are almost painting like. I’m particularly pleased with those.
